Thank you for the wonderful accommodations! Everything from the room, to the view, to the breakfast and conversation was great. We would love to come back and spend a week instead of just a day.

Thanks for a Great Weekend. We had a Blast. It was so nice to unplug and have a much needed respite. The accommodations were grand, all the meals wonderful, the apple pie was as good as Mom's.

Jim and Lin have lived in their peaceful valley since 1991.

Jim, is a South Dakota native. Born in Harrold, schooled in Blunt and teen years spent in Rapid City, Jim left his native state to enlist in the Navy in 1963. He spent time "playing on ships and airplanes" as well as underground and finally retired as a Commander in 1991. The B&B is named for his desire to "drop his anchor" and stay in one place. Besides his work as an innkeeper, Jim enjoys singing and performs with the Shrine of Democracy Barbershop Chorus in Rapid City.

Lin is an immigrant from Maryland but during a honeymoon trip in 1966 she fell in love with the Hills. Besides following Jim around the world, she raised two sons, and eventually became a librarian - working with children as well as working at a local university. Her passion for quilting encouraged her to start Aunt May's Porch, a quilting service.

Jim and Lin have two sons, one daughter-in-law, three grandchildren, and a variety of brothers, sister, cousins, nieces and nephews as well as friends scattered around the country whom they enjoy visiting when time permits.
